Many people are still experiencing hunger-related crises because of the pandemic. Feeding Washington member Second Harvest was featured earlier this month in an article in The Spokesman-Review.
Food insecurity has increased by several percentage points in Spokane County, according to Feeding America, which is cited in the article. For kids, the increase is even sharper.
Second Harvest distributes food throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho through 250 community programs that include food banks, pantries and meal programs.
